His-tories 1:
A
day never to forget.
This happened in the beginning of the eighties.
I
had to play in a n area of a big city where it was a bit dangerous.
I drove
in about 8 .00 pm with the equipment in the van, when I saw some policemen bending
over as if they were looking for something. Then one of them walked over to me
and asked "
"...Hey did you see somebody wounded, running away..."
I denied and he went back to the others. I then saw that they were following a
blood track. I drove on, of course wondering what was going on. When I arrived
at the place I had to be, I saw some weird looking guys standing in front of the
place. I didn't feel comfortable being alone but I had to get the equipment in
the place, so I started to unload the van. Suddenly I heard a heavy voice "...Let
me help you man...". I watched up and I saw a big man standing in front of
me. "...I don't want to rob you, let me work for my money man...".
"...Ok..."
all I could loose is my life, I thought. He really started to help and soon we
were finished.
I gave him a very good tip, and it was definitely more than
he expected, he thanked me by slapping my hand, but so strong that it dislocated
my shoulder. While he walked away I silently cried in pain behind my car. However
my shoulder got in again after my colleagues arrived . The gig started, but I
was of course a bit worried about my shoulder, and not really concentrated. I
don't recall who mentioned it, but between two songs somebody complained that
the music was sounding as if there was no treble, only bass
.
Believe
it or not, Two guys managed to steal the tweeters from the PA system while the
band was playing!!!!
