Update: 31/12/03

The months August and September 2003 were very busy.

After the Surinam tour with storyteller Paul Middellijn which was very successful, I immediately fell in the rehearsals of Ronald Snijders his new children program called "The Hit".

While we rehearsed in the night, Paul kept me busy in the daytime with a tour around the schools in Rotterdam. This tour was about the environment, and was very interesting.

Meanwhile, in the daytime Ronald was writing new stuff which he also started to rehearse.

We also did some nice things with the "Multijam", like playing at the official opening of "Het paard, formerly het Paard van troje". We also played the "Binnenhof festival" and "Uit festival"

Paul again came with a new tour playing some nice theatres like "de Hofnar"in Valkenswaard," Vredenburg" in Utrecht," Stadstheater Zoetermeer" and" Spuitheater" in The Hague.

Then Ronald surprised me by telling me that we were going to record a new CD.

We did the recordings and they sound very good. We also started touring with "the Hit".

And I forgot to mention the nice jazz concert we did in belgium at the "Brugge festival".

I also played at the exhibition of painter Erwin de Vries.

We had a nice concert with Glenn Weisz in Zuidlaren, October 20th, 2003 with some beautiful dancers, it was difficult to concentrate on the music!!!

At the end of October I went to Surinam with Ronald Snijders to perform at the Paramaribo Jazz festival and we also did some workshops.

"The Nazaten" are making plans for the coming months. I 'm going to take it a little easier, write some new music, and make some time for my family. Taking some computer lessons from my son would not be a bad idea.

With Ronald Snijders we played in Paris, Lithuania, several times in Hungary, we went to South America where we played Ronald his beautiful new composition "Panamericana" at the Botanik Jazz festival in Cayenne (French Guyana)..

With Paul Middellijn I did some performances in Holland. Paul is very busy with the Surinam Tory Academia (storytelling school) and to promote storytelling in the Caribbean and I hear good news from that side.

The band "Nazaten van prins Hendrik" have a new program "Percusong" and we had some concerts.

With the "Multijam" we did some nice gigs, among them the Gigs for kids at the North Sea Jazz festival, and "het Kerst en lichtfeest" was nice, our special guest was Margriet Eshuijs. The Major of the Hague mr Deetman came to thank us personally and shook our hands.
	With Winston Scholsberg I did a duo with just percussion and guitar and the reactions were surprisingly good. To be continued!!!

De nazeten with James Carter November 2007 tour.
	De Nazaten did a tour with the phenominal James Carter , for this tour I wrote two compositions (with the support of the NFPK+) especially for mr. Carter, :”Skratyology” and “Salvador”. The tour was a big succes. To be continued!!



			After the last note of the tour... YES! we did it!!!

On the last day of the Nazaten/Carter tour we had a very special friend in the audience.


Bernlef is the writer of "de piano man" boekenweek geschenk 2008. I accompanied ROnald Snijder when he was asked to perform during the "boekenweek 2008"	Story teller Ashley Ramsden visited Holland to do tell some stories about the great Jellaludin Rumi - it wasn an honour for me to work with him.	Duo performance with Winston Scholsberg	Duo with Patrick Lauwerends	De Nazaten in "het Congresgebouw" during the "lieve Hugo" party. Carlo Jones joined us again for the occasion, and that was very, very nice. Note also his brother Andre Jones on the Koprotu (sousaphone)

In the first half of the year 2008 I was very busy writing a book and recording a playalong cd with an introduction to kaseko music. Sound engineer and friend Julio Hernandez was helping me with the mix.	At the july 1st Keti Koti day (abolition of slavery day) in the Anton Philips zaal the Hague. (A nice jam with good musicians from the Hague.

It was an honour to be one of the first to perform in the beautiful new Bimhuis in Amsterdam.		We also went to Lituania, and we had a lot of succes. Between two songs I took my camera, and made a quick picture.
	We had a nice tour to Zambia and I enjoyed the nature very much.
